Omi's visit/Longwood Gardens

Last week Omi payed little Emma a visit. Was her first visit since our little girl has been born. Everyone was very excited. Little girl got to go on her first field trip! We all went into Philadelphia, to see Independence hall and the Liberty Bell. Although it was bitterly cold, I think she did learn something...

Emma has also been seemingly very interested in the piano, recently. Here she is accompanying Lisa on a piece by Mozart.
This weekend we visited Longwood Gardens. It's a bit of a hike outside of the city, but worth the trip. If you can deal with the crowds, you're in for a nice festival of lights.

Emma didn't seem overly impressed.

Enjoy the photos. Till next time.

Halloween and Thanksgiving

Well, two holidays have come and gone, and my blog is only two entries old. Terrible. Our little girl was in rare form for Halloween. Brings a tear to my eye, since it's my favorite holiday. We passed out candy together for the first time. She really was the star of the show. Look at our little leopard...

Thanksgiving was also a treat. Our little girl was a gem during our dinner, and we actually were able to sit down and eat an uninterrupted two hour dinner. Was a little bummed about the Lions loss, though. Never thought I would have said that, growing up a Bears fan, but living in Detroit for two years has somehow rubbed something off on me. Miss you Aussies!

Lisa and Emma also made a trip to the North Pole. As usual, Emma charmed Santa. She really is unbelievable in front of a camera. Take a look at this gem...

This weekend I have my mom in town. It is her first visit with our little girl, as she has been in Germany for the past 6 months. We are all having a blast with Emma, and as usual, she has been just perfect.

Tomorrow we are off to see the sights in downtown Philly. Liberty bell, Independence Hall, and what ever else comes up. Emma's first historical field trip.

On another note, Michigan lost to OSU two weekends ago. Was a great game, but OSU was too much in the end. In the mean time, USC has surpassed UM for the bid to play OSU for the national championship. Sad times for the maize-n-blue.

Oh well, till next time.

My first post.

Maiden post...

My first attempt at writing a blog will take place tonight at 9:42 pm ET. In reality, I started this blog, in honor of our first baby, Emma. Maybe she will find the time to read this one day, and realize how special she is to both me and my wife, Lisa. As for Lisa, I think she has been itching to get involved in the world of blogging, so hopefully this will jump start a hobby...

Emma was born on June 23, 2006, in Royal Oak, MI.

She is almost 5 months old now, and growing bigger every day. Lisa and I know that she is smart as a whip, as she is always one step ahead of us. She is the sweetest little thing. Her smile lights up the room. It really is amazing, how quickly she picks up the new toys and playthings that we present to her.

I think that we are off to a good start here. There is too much that I feel I need to get the reader caught up with regarding our little precious one, but I certainly do not want to babble on and on, during my first posting.

I will mention that along with my wife Lisa and daughter Emma, we have two very sweet cats, Fife and Hannah.
While they may not feel as such at times, they are both very important parts of our life as well, and will forever be out first "children."

I think that's all for today. More next week, as the Thanksgiving holiday is upon us very shortly.
Even better, the Bond marathon...I love this time of year.

Look for some posts from Lisa, as I try to get her up to speed with this "uber" techno stuff.
